I'm so excited to FINALLY be able to tell you about the second retreat at my home studio with my friends, Jennifer Allred and Amy Bowling!!  They're amazing stitchers and are so fun to learn from. We tried our hand at a retreat in October and it was so much fun we're doing it again!  I picked up a needle and thread for the first time in years back in March at the retreat I attended in Albuquerque - and then again in Nebraska when I taught at Handmade U. It was so much fun I haven't been able to stop and I'd love to have you join the three of us!

If you've ever wanted to hang out with my friends and I for a weekend of lettering, stitching, eating, laughing, crafting, shopping and donuts - this is your chance!

The retreat begins Thursday, February 27th at 5pm and continues through Sunday, March 1st at noon.  All meals are included - you'll receive an email after January 5th asking if you have any dietary restrictions and we'll be happy to work around those for you.   All the supplies you'll need for every project are also included - although you are welcome to bring embroidery scissors, any thread or embellishments or projects you're currently working on. We'll be happy to work with you on airport pickups if needed.  You'll need lodging near Shawnee, and we can send you a list of nearby hotels and Air Bnbs if needed. Cost for the weekend is $460.00.  Find some friends and share an Air Bnb for even more fun!

All the fun will be at my home studio - stitching, lettering, some other fun crafting, and we'll be wearing comfy clothes - no need to dress up!  We'll start with dinner on Thursday night and will refresh ourselves on basic stitches (and if you've never stitched or you're a little rusty, don't worry!!) Friday morning we’ll begin our first project

We’ll be making a mini "ribbon type" sampler that will wind onto a wood spool - see Jen's adorable picture!  Amy will teach us a stitching project involving all the flowers (and stitches) and Gale will teach you how to make an adorable little notebook stuffed with cute lettering, ribbons, ephemera and more! (I had to borrow a pic to show you because I’ve been so busy shipping this season I havent Finished mine!)

We'll focus on flowers, spring and words - introducing one new project in the morning and then spend the evenings slow stitching and using lots of trims and embellishments, and sharing stories - be prepared for lots of laughing, learning and meeting new friends!

Please don't feel you can't come by yourself - we're a gang of nice girls and you'll be welcomed with open arms!  You won't be a stranger for long and I look forward to meeting all of you!

Amy loves hiking, fresh sour cream donuts, & creating with color! While stitching, she uses thread to paint, doodle, & letter - but only when it's fun! She lives in Topeka, Kansas, with her husband & three teens, but Texas was home for 22 years. Her favorite way to take a picture is with a big smile & her arms spread wide!
For most of the past five years, Amy & her family have loved & learned from several foster children who will always have a special place in their hearts.  You can find her on IG at @stitchalongwithcoko and Facebook at Stitch Along With Coko for all her stitching adventures!
